Envision Audrey Hepburn in the movie, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, well, without Tiffany’s! Imagine further that she is instead in a shabby-chic type of store in the small, quaint, upstate village of Brewster, New York. Would her simple, classy look still be just that, or would it be forgettable and boring?
Accessories, whether they be a necklace, a hat, a bag, or even an internship at Anne Koplik Designs, spice things up just enough to make even my lack-luster summer plans back in my hometown, interesting and exciting.
I have been lucky enough to spend time working around the talented and skilled women who have run AKD for over 30 years, all while being around the sparkle of their creations. Although there are so many pieces here that have caught my eye, this beautifully handcrafted necklace really stood out to me.
The beachy look displayed, somehow, does not take away from the elegance of the necklace. It is playful, and with subtle pearls throughout, it is easy to dress the necklace with sophistication… but, my favorite part is the starfish.
Just off center by a tad, the shiny starfish adds a pop of color and a little fun. In the middle, there is one stone that changes color with every direction you turn.
Like the spice in my summer plans, this necklace is a game changer. It’s simple, but adds just enough to complete almost any summertime outfit.
