Remembering Anne Koplik DiFranco: A Life of Love, Sparkle, and Timeless Beauty

It is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of our bright and sparkly light, Anne Koplik DiFranco. A cherished mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and daughter, a devoted friend, loving wife and of course, an extraordinary jewelry designer. She passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2024, at the age of 86, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Anne was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 8th, 1938 and grew up in Woodmere, NY attending Woodmere-Hewlett High School. From the very beginning, Anne had a natural eye for beauty, design and color. Her passion for antiques and design led her to originally pursue a career in interior design which eventually guided her to finding her true passion and calling in life, jewelry design. Building her very own company from her kitchen table, Anne founded Anne Koplik Designs, formally known as The Glass Works Studio, Ltd. in the year 1981. This is where Anne began to create her intricate and timeless creations that would go on to touch the lives of countless people. Known for her love of patterns, color and of course sparkle, Anne dedicated her career to making women feel as beautiful on the outside as she knew they were on the inside. Working alongside her two daughters, Jill and Kara, she transformed antiqued metals, vintage glass and handmade enamels into works of art that will continue to be passed down and treasured for generations.

Beyond her artistic talent, Anne was a loving mother and grandmother, who found immense joy and happiness in working everyday with her daughters Jill and Kara, sharing endless stories with her grandchildren Matthew, Rachel, Jenna and Grace, teaching many life lessons, snuggling every furball she could get her hands on, and of course offering unwavering love and support to the people around her. Her warmth, kindness, generosity, wisdom, feistiness and laughter were the foundation of her family’s strength. She was a true matriarch.

She is survived by her daughters, Jill Koplik Tellerman and Kara Tellerman Garecht, son-in-law Joe Garecht and four grandchildren, Matthew Yee, Rachel Yee, Jenna Garecht and Grace Garecht, as well as countless of others who were blessed to be a part of her extended family. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Rocco DiFranco, her parents Sidney and Sally Koplik and her sister Ilene Churchill.

Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her and in the beauty of the jewelry she created, each piece a reminder of her extraordinary spirit.

Your Treat!
